APPLICATION HIGHLIGHTS:

High compressive strength, low coefficient of friction and a relatively high thermal expansion coefficient of YTZP and TTZ zirconias permit shrink and press fit assemblies in steel fixtures with little difficulty. The wear resistance of the zirconium oxide provides long lived fixture particularly where abrasive products are being produced. Highly polishable, zirconia provides a non-damaging surface for indexing soft, easily damaged materials and finishes. High mechanical toughness provides survivability even where repeated mechanical shocks occur. In certain unique application where electrical insulation is required, ZrO₂'s dielectric properties are critical.
